The Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce took home honors in the recent Zenith Award competition for excellence in event marketing and management awarded by the Texas Festivals & Events Association (TFEA).  The Chamber, which competed with other events with a budget of $75,000-$250,000, took first-place for Best Event Website, Best Miscellaneous Multimedia, Best Press/Media Kit and Best Other Merchandise, second-place awards included Best Newspaper Insert and Best T-shirt Design and third-place award was for Best Miscellaneous Printed Materials.

The TFEA Marketing Awards program recognizes excellence in marketing campaigns used to promote festivals and events. “This competition recognizes the creativity and professionalism of the Texas festivals and events industry,” said TFEA Executive Director Penny C. Reeh.  “More than 395 individual entries were received in this year’s completion, which is a record number.”

TFEA is a professional trade association for festival and event planners, volunteers and suppliers from across Texas.  It is an official affiliate of the International Festivals & Events Association, the premier professional association supporting festival and event leaders worldwide.  For more information about TFEA, visit www.tfea.org or find the association on Facebook.

The Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce (The Chamber) won 7 awards during the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives Annual Conference. “This contest is open to any member Chamber of Commerce in the state. When you are competing against other Chambers of Commerce it is an honor to win 1 award – but to win 7 shows the quality of this organization,” said Chamber President/CEO Jerry Huffman.

“I believe our programs have been a tremendous resource for our members, and those programs have now been recognized on a state level,” said Van Watson, 2010 Chairman of Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce. “We continue to try to improve the materials we have and we will continue to listen to what our members want and need to make their businesses thrive. These materials are especially helpful during these economic times and we hope they are utilized,” said Huffman.
